The portrait is at the heart of what we do at Studio Alegria. Every photograph that we capture in studio or weddings, or on location shares our philosophy that the portrait should not be just a picture but a reflection of the soul.
Unlike many other photographers we do not start a photo session with a script of poses or preconceived notion of what the final images should look like. Like our clients, each of our portraits is unique and individual.
Our photography sessions are relaxed and un pressured. There is cool music, a lot of chatting and giggles, and sometimes even some tears. All designed to create a portrait that will be timeless, contemporary classic.

What to wear for your session
We are always asked about dress for a portrait session. There is no right answer for this. It really depends on the look and mood that you want your portraits to have. But we do have some general tips.
Denim is always a classic. It gives a informal timeless look.
Avoid Stripes, plaids (unless you are Scottish) and busy patterns and metallic fabrics
for groups: Generally, you want to make sure that everyone balances. If you want to do dark colors make sure that everyone in the group is in dark colors
Studio Alegria has portrait plan to meet your preference
Everyone has different ideas on what their perfect portrait is.
Some want family portraits done i their home in the tradition of the "Grand Manor portrait" only with a contemporary flair that reflects their modern style. Others want the stylized sophistication of a studio portrait or outstanding portraits that capture the true personality of their kids.
Whatever your idea of your perfect portrait is, Studio Alegria has a plan that will exceed your expectations.
We offer several types of portrait plans in addition to our standard family and individual portraits including settings for:
- Maternity portraits
- Engagement portraits
- Bridal portraits
- "Naughty but Nice" Boudoir and intimate portraits
- In-home formal and informal portraits
Each of our plans are custom tailored to your desires. We do not have made up packages for you to chose from. This allows you to select what you want not what someone else thinks you want.
Our portrait photography process
Studio Alegria has a technology enhanced workflow that gives you a great deal of control and confidence in the creation of your portraits.
The majority of our images are digitally captured directly to our computers and the foundation images are immediately archived. This ensures that you will never have to hear "we lost your images". All of our digital photographs are stored on 2 geographically dispersed storage arrays. You can be assured that your photographs are well protected.
After your session, you will have the opportunity to view your foundation images in order to select the ones that we will do first stage post processing on.
When the are completed (usually within 5 to 7 days) they are posted in a online password protected gallery allowing to to make your final print selections in the comfort of your home.
